Which blackout(s) did you experience?

In your own words, tell the story of your experience in the blackout(s). Try to recall specific events and the people, places, and things involved; also include more general reactions, images adn last impressions?
in 1965 i was only 9 when the lights when out. My mom was making dinner and I was doing a current events project in re to Eisnhower having another heart attack. By 1977 I was 2 1/2 months pregnant with my first child, I was married 5 months and was having the worst morning sickness. My husband and I watching the Met game and I do remember Lenny Randall hitting the ball and in the post game he thought he caused the black out because he hit the ball into the lights. 1977 was such a harrowing summer It was so hot, we were all so terrified of Son of Sam and I was in the early stages of pregnancy. By the next summer i was living in California free of all the weather phenoms...

footnote, my son is now 22,he has 2 amazing sisters 19 and 14.. we are still in Sunny CA and I have been divorced from the Met fan for 9 years.

Why did the blackouts happen, in your opinion?

the year 1977 was so significant due to all the above

it didnt my apt complex ran on its own generator
